Q: “Why did you add MFA/Why am I being asked to do this?”

A: We added MFA to strengthen sign-in security and help protect your account and organization’s information. It adds a quick verification step during sign-in. To minimize disruption, you’ll be prompted at most once per day (per device/browser).

Q: “Is this required for everyone?”

A: Yes, this MFA step is being enabled for all users to provide a consistent level of sign-in protection. It’s prompted at most once per day (per device/browser).

Note: This is not a requirement for users with a walkerdunlop.com email address and they should not receive these MFA prompts.

Q: “How often will I be asked?”

A: You’ll be asked for a verification code no more than once per day per device/browser. If you sign in from a new device, new browser, or clear cookies, you may be prompted again sooner.

Q: “Can I turn MFA off?”

A: Not at this time. MFA is part of our standard sign-in experience to help protect accounts. To reduce friction, prompts are limited to at most once per day per device/browser.

Q: “I’m getting prompted more than once per day—why?”

A: A few common reasons can cause extra prompts:

  • You switched devices or browsers (e.g., Chrome → Edge)

  • You’re using incognito/private browsing

  • Cookies/site data were cleared (manually or by a browser setting)

If you would like assistance with figuring out what's occurring, please contact the live chat and our Customer Success team would be happy to help figure out what could be happening.

Q: “I didn’t receive the email code—what should I do?”

A: Please check your spam/trash folder to ensure the email did not get sent to the wrong place. If you have a spam filter on and/or an IT department that monitors spam emails, we recommend you also check there and make sure emails from @walkerdunlop.com email addresses are not being filtered out.

Q: “Why email MFA?”

A: Email verification is easy to adopt and doesn’t require additional setup. Our goal is to strengthen sign-in security while keeping the experience simple. We’re also collecting feedback as we continue to evolve our sign-in options.
